ROSE

This precious dog is named Rose. If you are having trouble seeing Rose’s eyes, it is because Rose suffers from a medical condition called Entropion. Entropion is a condition in which the eyelid(s) turns inward and the eyelashes and skin rub against the eye’s surface. This can be extremely painful. Just imagine the bristles from a brush scraping on your eyeballs every time you blinked and the discomfort this would cause you day in and day out. Entropion often causes corneal ulcers or erosions which can result in corneal scarring, which can interfere with vision.

Rose has lived like this for 3 long years and now her eyes are so swollen and irritated you can hardly see her eyes. BUT what you do see when you meet Rose is her heart and her spirit. Despite the daily pain she has to endure, Rose remains a loving dog that is well-behaved and eager to please.

Please help FOCAS to ensure that Rose can live a pain free life and get the necessary surgery to correct this condition.
Please donate today and together we can make certain Rose will see a bright future.

JACK

They say the eyes can speak when there are no words. We found this to be true when we met Jack. His soulful eyes looking up at us just melted our hearts and we knew we had to help.

Running the streets as a stray, Jack suffered a crushing blow to his left rear leg as he entered a live trap. The impact instantly fractured his hip joint. Shaking in extreme pain and unable to walk, the shelter was notified immediately. This little guy needed help.

Once at the shelter it was determined that Jack’s hip joint was fractured and he would require surgery and physical therapy. That was when the call to FOCAS was made. To save Jack’s leg and keep him pain free Jack will need Femoral Head Ostectomy (FHO). This is a surgical procedure that removes the femoral head and neck from the femur. The FHO surgery will alleviate the pain and give Jack back the use of his leg.

Please help FOCAS help Jack. Through your generous donations we can provide Jack with the opportunity to be a happy, pain free, active dog again. Donate today and together we will have this little guy as good as new.

WENDY

When we first met Wendy you could hardly tell she had a care in the world. On the outside she seemed happy – from her trusting eyes to her wagging tail, she captured the hearts of everyone. But sadly inside Wendy was in a great deal of pain. Daily Wendy had to endure the pain of a growing bladder stone that had been left untreated by her owner. The stone was the size of a golf ball when FOCAS learned of her plight. In pain and loosing a significant amount of blood daily, FOCAS immediately arranged for Wendy to receive the life saving surgery she so desperately needed. Wendy’s surgery was a success and she is currently thriving in her foster home. Click here to see a video of her and to learn more about this special girl!

Everyday countless numbers of cats and dogs come into the three county animal shelters that need medical attention. While the minor issues can be addressed by the shelter medical staff, it is cases like Wendy’s that would not have the happy outcome without your support. Please give today so FOCAS can continue to be there when the sick and injured cats and dogs arrive at the shelter and have no where else to turn.
