Medical Fund

FOCAS is about second chances for animals. We work closely with the San Diego Department of Animal Services and often get calls about cats or dogs too severely injured or too ill to survive or be treated in County shelters. This is where our medical fund comes in.

Unique to FOCAS, the medical fund is funded by the donations of generous individuals and is used to provide short-term and long-term care for everything from surgeries to insulin shots to broken legs. We cover the costs of all the initial and follow up care the animal needs, place it in a foster home or other safe and comfortable place to recover, and prepare it to be good as new and ready for adoption.

To date, we’ve successfully rehabilitated hundreds of cats and dogs through this fund and plan to help even more in the future – check out some of our success stories (link to fairytail endings). Our plan is to reduce euthanasia of treatable and manageable animals by at least 50 percent during the next three years through partnerships with local veterinarians, committed volunteers and supportive donors.

The cost of this care is expensive and we need your help to ensure that we can continue to help these animals who need a little extra TLC. Give today! Online, via phone 619/685-3536 or send a check or money order to FOCAS, P.O. Box 8375, La Jolla, CA 92038.
