FOCAS has new Executive Director and Board President

Sep 10, 2008

Dear Friends:

It is my pleasure to inform you that, after careful consideration, the FOCAS board of directors has hired a new executive director – Dana Brandon.

Among her exceptional qualifications, Dana brings more than 20 years of nonprofit experience to her new role with us, including volunteer development, fundraising and program management. She was most recently the executive director at Berkshire County Kids’ Place and Violence Prevention Center Inc., a nonprofit that works withchildren subjected to violence, and is a passionate animal lover. Dana spent almost 10 -years as an officer in the U.S. Navy and looks forward to being back in San Diego with her cat.

Dana will start her role as executive director on Monday, September 22 and will be reachable at the FOCAS office or via email at execdir@focas-sandiego.org

I would also like to announce that Ann Elise Ryder, FOCAS board member and former treasurer, has been voted in as president of FOCAS, effective immediately. For those of you who don’t know Ann Elise, she is a dedicated animal advocate, former FOCAS foster and the proud “mother” of three dogs – Charles, Diana and Foxy Roxy, who Ann Elise adopted from FOCAS. Ann Elise can be reached at aryder@san.rr.com.

The future is bright for FOCAS and I am confident that we will help even more dogs and cats under the direction of Dana and Ann Elise.

Best regards,

Lauren DiGeronimo
Immediate Past President
